Edgar was picked out by me for Chris as a performance dog. He had this certain wise look on his face as a very young pup. I knew, this was her dog. Thru the months he grew, a wise and very thoughtful boy, easily trained. He turned out to be more than a good performance dog, he turned out to be a very nice show dog too. Edgar, handled by Chris, finished with grand style in August 2001, taking Winner’s Dog at the CPWCC specialty for the 2nd year in a row.
Edgar produced several nice offspring from a limited number of litters. Although he was neutered when he went to join his former owner’s daughter and grandkids, I did stash some frozen semen. After having 9 normal coated pups out of a DNA fluff factored bitch, he’s probably fluff free. He has a very handsome black-headed tri son, Am/Can Ch Haley’s D’Artagnan PHC, owned by Carrie Hale took BOS in the ’02 CPWCC match, RWD and Best Opp Sweeps ’02 CRPWCC specialty, Best In Sweeps ’02 Canadian National. Black-headed tri daughter U-OCH U-ACHX MACH8 Trengate Here Comes the Sun UDX RAE MXF and ACH Haley Cambria Dash of Sun UD RA PHC CGC have been outstanding performance dogs. Her black-headed tri sister, INT & FIN & S & EST Ch Trengate Ticket To Ride was exported to Finland and has done very well.

On April 1st, 2002, my best friend Chris, Edgar’s owner, passed away. Along with her Hopes and Dreams. Edgar was going to get his CD, his TD, his Canadian Championship, his VCX. He was. His daughter “bordercorgi” Sadie was going to bust all loose at agility trials.
Sweet Dreams Chris, I hope we meet again someday. The best I can do for you is to remember, and hold tight to some of those Dreams for you. Your boy Edgar will be raising your grandkids Lani and Brook.
